Assembléon

Internship Thermo dynamics evaluation of a powerful robot

Key areas of responsibility

The goal of this internship is to verifiy the thermal behaviour of an assembly robot. The challenge is the increasing demand for higher output which requires the use more powerful robots.  For this new borders have to be crossed to keep the temperature of the system in control, in order to reach high accuracy and a reliable machine.

Prepare tests for measuring temperatures of critical machine parts.
Position accuracy can and will be measured with several methods
System accuracy in relation with system temperature will be determined.
System temperature in relation with intensity of use will be measured.
Use statistics to analyze data.
Estimate/calculate the effect of design changes.

The confrontation of these experimental findings with numerical models will lead to new insights and new chances for process improvement.
