Assembléon launches new MC-Platform at Virtual PCB

Veldhoven (The Netherlands), February 23, 2009

Assembléon is making its second appearance at the Virtual PCB on-line tradeshow (www.virtual-pcb.com). Visitors will find Assembléon’s complete machine range in image and sound at this on-line event on Feb 24 and 25, backed by many useful downloads and presentations. They will also be able to ask questions and chat on-line with product and application specialists, who will be available around the clock for 48 hours.

Alongside its flagship A-Series Pick & Place machines – which set the industry quality benchmark with single-digit defects per million placements – Assembléon is launching its new MC (Modular Compact) Platform for high-quality high-mix production.

Modular Compact Platform features intelligent feeders

The versatile, feature-rich MC Platform consists of the recently released MC-12 and two new machines: the MC-1 and MC-8. Ultra-compact, the machines include the new intelligent feeder design that packs up to 126 feeders per system. Together with trolleys, in-line tape loading and tape cutters, the machines handle a wide variety of components, boards (up to 510x460 mm) and product complexities, making them ideal for high mix production up to 40k components/hour.

The Platform uses an advanced side-view camera system – standard on the MC-12 – to give guided placement verification for right first time production. Additionally, the machines offer many features to maintain high quality placement, including automatic nozzle cleaning and automated preventative maintenance.

High First Pass Yield maximizes profitability

With the industry downturn placing increased pressure on margins for electronic equipment manufacturers, maximizing First Pass Yield is essential to improve profitability by reducing the costs of rework and scrap. Assembléon’s award winning service and support programmes optimize the complete manufacturing operation, to keep it working at top performance over the whole equipment lifetime.

Last year, Virtual PCB had over 2.400 registrants and more than 1.600 attendees from all continents. Visitors can visit the on-line Assembléon booth on February 24 and 25. Registration is free; go to www.virtual-pcb.com and click on the Register button.
