Vision
The MC-24 works with several types of vision tools.
Fiducial Camera
The MC-24 is standard equipped with a fiducial camera for fiducial
recognition and bad mark sensing. This camera can also be used as a highly
accurate teaching device for PCB data (if CAD data is not available),
automatic calibration and inspection purposes. For component alignment, a
line array camera is available as standard. In addition to these standard
cameras, the underneath optional cameras can be configured.
Additionally, the software contains a fiducial recovery function where the
operator can “teach” the location of the damaged fiduction. This feature:
- Eliminates the need to remove and clean the board and avoids wasted components and lost production time
- Keeps production running even through marginal boards
Side view camera
A side view camera system is available for use in combination with the line array camera. It is especially useful for small components and has no effect on recognition time. It offers quality enhancement by:
- improving pick and mounting reliability (bring back check)
- detecting component presence and orientation at the nozzle in Z direction.
- prevents components being placed that are upside down, tombstoned or bill-boarded on the nozzle
- detects dust or particles on nozzles to initiate automatic nozzle cleaning
Second line array camera
A second line array camera reduces head beam travel thus shortening the mounting cycle time on boards with a high unique component count. It:
- improves output for components picked from rear feeders
- mounted on rear between two 32-position feeder bars.
Single area CCD camera
The MC-24 can be equipped with a single area CCD camera for extending the component range (up to 55mm square components). Especially for use of larger type BGA components. It improves mounting accuracy by using fine mode/multi recognition.
3D vision system
In combination with the line array camera, an on-the-fly 3D vision system checks the co-planarity of any leaded component or the individual ball height for BGA components with minimal speed penalty. It:
- measures the co-planarity of QFPs and BGAs
- provides a cost-effective 3D vision system solution
- checks co-planarity on the fly.
