Vision

The MG-3 works with several types of vision tools. Each head in the standard MG-3 is equipped with two cameras (one fiducial camera and one teaching camera). The fiducial camera is for fiducial recognition and bad mark sensing. Together with the additional camera, it can be used also as a highly accurate teaching device for PCB data (if CAD data is not available), automatic calibration and inspection purposes. Standard four-line array cameras are also available for component alignment.

In addition to these cameras, four side-view cameras (in combination with the line array camera) are configured. These cameras enhance quality by improving pick and mounting reliability (bring back check) and detecting component presence and orientation at the nozzle in Z direction. They are especially useful for small components and have no effect on recognition time.
