The standard Opal-XII is equipped with a fiducial camera for fiducial recognition and bad mark sensing. This camera can also be used as a highly accurate teaching device for PCB data (if CAD data is not available), automatic calibration and inspection purposes. For component alignment, a standard line array camera is also available.

In addition to these cameras, some optional cameras can be configured:

Single-area CCD camera

The Opal-XII can be equipped with a single-area, 32 mm CCD camera that:

  • improves mounting accuracy by using fine mode/multi recognition
  • makes it possible to place 15 mm tall components.

3D vision system

In combination with the line array camera, a cost-effective on-the-fly 3D vision system:

  • checks the co-planarity of leaded components
  • checks individual ball height of BGA components with minimal speed penalty
  • checks the co-planarity of QFPs and BGAs.
