The standard Topaz-XII is equipped with a fiducial camera for fiducial recognition and bad mark sensing. This camera can also be used as a highly accurate teaching device for PCB data (if CAD data is not available), automatic calibration and inspection purposes. For component alignment, a standard line array camera is also available. In addition to these cameras, some optional cameras can be configured as described underneath.
Single-area CCD camera
The Topaz-XII can be equipped with a single-area, 32 mm CCD camera that:
- improves mounting accuracy by using fine mode/multi recognition
- makes it possible to place 15 mm tall components.
Second line array camera
A second line array camera reduces head beam travel thus shortening the mounting cycle time on boards with a high unique component count. It:
- improves output for components picked from rear feeders
- mounts on rear between two 24-position feeder bars.
3D vision system
In combination with the line array camera, a cost-effective on-the-fly 3D vision system:
- checks the co-planarity of leaded components
- checks individual ball height of BGA components with minimal speed penalty
- checks the co-planarity of QFPs and BGAs.
